Steven C. Kirby

Steven KirbySteve brings a wealth of experience to the Law Offices of Kirby, Kirby and Kirby. After a brief junior college stint, and facing a draft Steve enlisted in the U.S.M.C. and was given a honorable medical discharge after almost two years of service. He not only put himself through Law School on the G.I. bill but supplemented that by re-building engines at night. Steve took and passed the California State Bar in July of 1978. It was while driving his motorcycle, over 30 years ago, that Steve met his wife Margaret Kirby, an east coast transplant, while attending the same law school as Steve.

Steve, and Margaret hung their shingle out, shortly after they both passed the California State Bar. At first doing private criminal work and personal injury work the practice prospered. In the late 1980s and early 1990s Steve and Margaret were retained by a nationwide airport transportation system and did common carrier defense work for approximately 12 years along with their Plaintiff's personal injury work. In doing common carrier defense work, Steve and Margaret represented every large taxi company and the predominant airport ground transportation companies in California and Arizona.

Steve and Margaret decided to focus their practice on Plaintiff's personal injury work and specifically, Steve's love, motorcycle personal injury accidents. As they both ride, this was a perfect fit for not only their business but leisure time as well. Since focusing their practice on Plaintiff's motorcycle personal injuries, they have been able to compete, by cutting the industry attorney fees for settling cases from 33 1/3% of the settlement to 19.99%. This puts more money in the injured party's pocket versus the doctors and attorneys pockets. Steve and Margaret have both been told this reduction in fees has forced other attorneys to also reduce their fees, thereby resulting in more money for the injured motorcycle rider. Steve and Margaret have been joined by their daughter, Aimee, who also rides and now the Firm is called Kirby, Kirby and Kirby. Steve is available 24-7 for anyone with any legal question.

Margaret Kirby

Margaret KirbyMargaret Kirby hails originally from the East Coast, and until this day, carries with her the same East Coast no-nonsense attitude towards litigating cases. Margaret left the East Coast to enjoy the climate that California had to offer in 1970. She attended law school with Steve Kirby, and graduated a year after Steve Kirby, in 1979. Mrs. Kirby's interest in motorcycles originated when she met Steve, in 1977. Although it was along time ago, Margaret still remembers how different a former Marine, on a restored motorcycle, with long hair, looked attending law school.

After years of riding on the back of all the Harleys that Steve continually bought, restored, and then sold, Margaret finally decided it was time to own her own motorcycle. In 2004, after attending the California Highway Patrol's Motorcycle Training Class, Margaret abandoned her 125cc training bike, and bought a Harley Davidson Fat Boy. Her first motorcycle came complete with custom forks, bags, and plenty of accessories to keep her busy. Appearances for court are much more enjoyable while riding in the carpool lane on her new Fat Boy. After practicing law over twenty five years, this is an indulgence that Margaret thoroughly enjoys.

Just recently Margaret road her motorcycle to Laughlin, Nevada, for the annual run. The ride to Lauglin was slow, hot, and tiring, but Margaret made it there and earned her biker stripes, so to speak. Margaret currently enjoys traveling all over the West Coast, enjoying meeting new clients with her husband and daughter. The motorcycle rallies and runs also take on a new meaning now that she can personally participate in the joy of riding her own motorcycle out of the confines of Los Angeles.

Aimee Kirby

Aimee KirbyAimee E. Kirby's interest in the biker community goes far beyond simply signing clients up and settling personal injury claims. Her approach to civil litigation emphasizes the fact that a personal injury accident affects a biker's entire lifestyle, by creating financial hardship, emotional trauma, and by robbing the motorcyclist of his or her favorite pastime. Aimee's inherent sense of caring and understanding assists her in dealing with the overall complexity of the issues faced by the biker community. Aimee's concern with the motorcyclist community has lead her to write a monthly column in Quick Throttle Magazine, formally called Full Throttle Magazine, entitled Biker's Law and Insurance Issues, in which she writes about legal and insurance issues that affect motorcyclist.

Aimee's interest in practicing law began when she graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May of 1999, as a member of the Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta. The summer she graduated from Loyola Marymount University, she began attending Southwestern School of Law participating in the accelerated Juris Doctorate program, called S.C.A.L.E. Hoping to gain experience at the Federal Court level, Aimee spent the Summer of 2001 interning with the Honorable Judge Rafeedie, at the United States District Court. Aimee completed her Juris Doctorate work in 2001, and passed the California State Bar in November of 2001. Aimee has also taken and passed the Arizona State Bar, in 2003, and the Nevada State Bar in 2004.

Since she became licensed, Aimee has been involved in the following high-profile cases: Larcita Ramos vs. Community Redevelopment Agency (Angels Flight Cases); Robinson vs. Beverly Healthcare-California, Inc.; Bertoldo vs. Beverly Healthcare-California, Inc., and Olson, Et. Al vs. Jonathan Paul Michael Barber.
